2017 Journey of Grace

journey of grace

The Good Shepherd Gracenter’s annual fundraiser was held to raise awareness and funds to support our mission of helping women without resources to break free from drug and alcohol addiction.

This year we celebrated 85 years of service in San Francisco by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, who own and operate the Good Shepherd Gracenter. Our theme was “Journey of Grace – guided to new horizons” to reflect both the journey and ministry of the Sisters themselves, as well as the personal journey of healing and empowerment of each of the women who have been served at Gracenter.

HELP US BREAK THE CYCLE of debilitating drug and alcohol addiction and give women a chance to lead healthy and productive lives!

Our goal was to raise $55,000 in revenue so that we can continue to provide opportunities for these women to be empowered to lead healthy and meaningful lives. Benefits extend to the wider community of San Francisco as the women no longer depend on welfare, homeless shelters, jail, and emergency services, but instead, give back to their families and communities—to the benefit of us all!

Our family friendly event featured the Pro Musica String Quartet, a delicious three-course lunch, our annual awards ceremony, a lively silent auction, a raffle, games, and more! The Amazing Grace awards are held to honor remarkable individuals who offer strength and hope to women in recovery.

Gracenter is unique in that it offers licensed, transitional housing and supportive services in all areas of life – health, education, employment, financial skills, IT skills, relationships, and more. We serve low-income women who are leaving a primary drug and alcohol program and choosing a lifestyle of health, recovery, independence and employment! We continue to provide support as needed after a woman graduates from the program. In fact, 95% of our graduates remain in recovery and 98% remain in stable housing one year later!
