Our Outstanding Graduate 2022
Deanna Dick calls North Fork, CA, situated near Yosemite National Park, her home and she is a member of the Chukchansi/Mono Indians.
Realizing that she needed help with her alcoholism and drug abuse, Deanna bravely came for treatment to San Francisco at Friendship House. After successfully completing a full year of learning the skills of recovery, she decided that she needed a longer time to practice those skills. Deanna chose to come to Good Shepherd Gracenter in order to become stronger in her recovery lifestyle. At Gracenter, Deanna gained employment as a full-time receptionist at Friendship House and learned valuable work skills and budgeting. She completed 9 months of a required DUI Class, which is a big challenge. Deanna has grown by leaps and bounds in her living of a recovery lifestyle that includes positive relationships, personal growth and the value of family – especially her young daughter.
Deanna is enthusiastic about new goals in her life as she graduates from Good Shepherd Gracenter and returns to North Fork, CA. She will be reunited with her family and seek both employment and housing. We offer our best wishes to Deanna and our prayers for a future full of Hope.
