Good Shepherd Gracenter held its 2nd annual fundraising event on September 13 at the fun and funky SomArts Gallery in San Francisco. The fete, an Art and Food Soiree, honored Teresa Mejia, the Executive Director of the Women’s Building in San Francisco. Ms. Mejia has made a significant and long lasting impact on improving the lives of underserved women across the Bay Area. Gracenter also honored Loreen Seid Jung, Vice President and Branch Manager of Bank of the West in the Portola District. Ms. Jung has been working with Gracenter for many years, teaching financial literacy classes to the women in residence, and helping them open what in some cases is their very first bank account.

The soiree included a video and historic display about Gracenter, an art zone for children and a place where guests could express their grace. It also included a silent auction with art and other items that were donated for the auction. Nearly 200 people attended the event, including the women who are living at Gracenter. All proceeds benefit Good Shepherd Gracenter, a licensed recovery residence for Women.
